6 Reasons Your Family Needs to Try Home Chef

By Katie Walthall, Publisher of Macaroni Kid CaryGrove-Barrington-Palatine March 8, 2018

Do you love to cook? Then you need to try Home Chef. Do you hate to cook? Then you definitely need to try Home Chef! Tired of the same meals every week? Yep...you guessed it, try Home Chef. Those are only 3 reasons why Home Chef might be right for you and your family. I had the amazing opportunity to try the fresh meal delivery service for the first time last week and it did not disappoint.

Let me start off with a little background before I jump into all the reasons why I think you need to try Home Chef. We are a family of 6 with kids ranging from age 1 to 13.. As you can imagine we are often on the go. Between drama practice, softball games, boy scout meetings and the other numerous random weekly events, I find myself scrambling to make the same 7-10 meals on a regular basis. And you know what? Most nights those meals are met with a groan or two from someone as we crowd around the dinner table. But not with Home Chef! Nope...even though the meals were out of everyone’s comfort zone and something they hadn’t tried before, both meals stirred up an excitement among the family; curious to try something new and steer away from the norm. Learn about our first experience with Home Chef and the 6 reasons why I think your family needs to try this amazing meal delivery service.

  1. You Love to Cook: If you are anything like me you actually like to cook but sometimes in our busy day to day life cooking dinner for the family on a daily basis becomes a chore and isn’t as enjoyable anymore. Home Chef can bring your love of cooking back to life. From the perfectly measured fresh ingredients, to the step by step recipes and finishing with a delicious healthy meal that leaves smiles on the faces of all family members, Home Chef reminds you why cooking is fun!

  2. You Hate to Cook: Not everyone loves to cook and I get it. First you have to find a recipe to please the family. Then you need to go to the store and buy all the ingredients. Back home to prep, measure, chop, cut, and cook. It’s a process and often times a recipe doesn’t turn out as hoped. Not with Home Chef. They have everything mapped out to ensure a successful, delicious meal and before you know it you will actually find yourself telling people you love to cook!

  3. Meal Variety: As I mentioned above I am guilty of cooking the same 7-10 meals on a weekly basis. I know what to buy, I know how to make it and I know the majority of the family will like it. But it is soooo BORING! And I still get groans from the kids along with phrases like, “This again?” or “We eat chicken all the time!”. Well not anymore! Home Chef makes it easy to mix up your dinner routine. Each week you can choose from 14 different weekly recipes including vegetarian options. There is something for every taste and it makes meal planning fun when you take the hassle out of trying a new recipe. For our first delivery we tried the Salmon with Dill Crema served with almond parmesan green beans and the Tex Mex Steak Sandwiches with fresh oven baked fries. Both meals, especially the salmon, are new meals for the family, but both were welcomed with open minds and mouths and both were thoroughly enjoyed by all with nothing leftover.

  4. Simple Step-by-Step Process: Using Home Chef meal delivery service could not be more simple. You start off by heading to the website where you browse their weekly meal selection. Add as many meals as you like to your order for the week, update how many servings you need and wait for the arrival of your perfectly measured out fresh ingredients. Then on Tuesday a magic box appears on your doorstep full of delicious goodies ready to be put together for a complete meal. Worried about not being home for the delivery? Don’t be. Home Chef meals come in an insulated box and will stay nice and fresh until you can get home and transfer everything into the refrigerator. When you are ready to cook your meals, simply grab the step by step recipe card included in your delivery, the pre-portioned ingredients (yes, Home Chef eliminates food waste as well!) and get cooking! I usually don’t buy salmon at the store. Not because we don’t like it but because I never know how much to buy or how to properly cook it. Both those insecurities were squashed by Home Chef and their easy to follow instructions.

  5. Save Time and Money: We are constantly on the go and sometimes I find it hard to have enough time to make the meals I wish I could for our big family. Save some time with Home Chef and eliminate the need to go to the grocery store. What might take 2 hours out of your day getting the kids in and out of the car, in and out of the grocery store, can take minutes. Don’t spend hours searching for new recipes and planning out your grocery list. Home Chef includes all the necessary ingredients, a step by step recipe card and a handy binder to hold all the recipes for easy access. Plus, each meal is only $9.95 a serving. We are a family of 6 but with younger children you know they won’t eat a full serving. I ordered 4 servings of both meals and we had MORE than enough food. We all couldn’t go out to dinner for a meal as good as the one provided by Home Chef for only $40!

  6. Get $30 Off Your First Order: If you are still unsure about trying Home Chef, let us help! Use this link http://bit.ly/2F9f8p4 to automatically get $30 off your first delivery. That’s right $30!
